1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Horatius at horatius.app ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Horatius is a knowledge management platform that allows users to save, organize, and reuse structured context ("Capsules") from AI conversations. The Service includes a web application, REST API, and MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for AI integration.
3. Accounts
You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including passwords and API keys. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you create within the Service, including Capsules, Types, and file attachments. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. We do not use your content to train AI models.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Use automated tools to scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service
- Share API keys or account credentials with unauthorized parties
- Upload malicious files or content designed to exploit vulnerabilities
6. Teams and Sharing
When you share Capsules with team members or via share links, you are responsible for ensuring the content is appropriate for the intended audience. Team owners are responsible for managing membership and access levels within their teams.
7. Storage and Limits
The Service imposes storage limits on file attachments: 25MB per file, 50MB per Capsule, and 200MB total storage per user. File attachments expire after 30 days by default. We reserve the right to adjust these limits with reasonable notice.
8. API and MCP Access
API keys provide programmatic access to your account. You are responsible for keeping API keys secure. If you believe an API key has been compromised, revoke it immediately through your account settings. We may rate-limit API access to ensure fair use of shared resources.
9. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned downtime.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that harms the Service or other users. Upon termination, your content will be permanently deleted after a reasonable grace period.
11. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
